Now the second nest (if you can call it that), looks complete from below, but when my husband looked into that one......here is what we found.
Want my explanation? I think it got confused which nest the other eggs were in, and she needed to lay that egg fast and just plopped it out right on the wood beam. We laughed our heads off. The sad thing is, she has abandoned this egg all together. She never sits on that side so I'm afraid that egg won't ever hatch. It still makes me laugh to look at that nest though.
Happy Spring and have a great Mother's Day everyone!

The first one is a work of art! The second one, I think your explanation sounds pretty good! Keep us posted on what happens and when they hatch.
Such pretty little eggs :) I feel kind of sorry for the odd one out. Can't wait to see the babys!

Poor little egg, hate to see it left out. Aren't the eggs a beautiful color though?
Such beautiful eggs! Thanks for stopping by my blog too. :)
I'm so glad you were able to peek into the nest and show us pictures. I love this kind of stuff. I've been checking in on the life of a bald eagle and her babies that is being livestreamed (it's on youtube) and it's fascinating! I think one of your pictures of the eggs would look amazing framed!
We just found a Robin's nest with eggs, they are beautiful! Thanks for your comment. I'm now following you too!
