Today my family had a really nice relaxing Sunday. I love Sundays. A true day of rest. It has been a little warm in Temecula this past weekend, and we are stocked up on ice cream. My family loves ice cream. I decided to make my Banana Split Shake. Very tasty. As I was approaching my 15 year old son Austin with this delicious treat, I said Austin, try this, it's a Banana.....and before I could even finish the name of it, he had sucked it down. I laughed so hard. It wasn't a big cup, but he is such a picky eater that I never know if he will like what I make or not. HE LOVED IT. He helped himself to two more helpings. So here is the recipe.
FYI - When signing onto Google today, it said it is the 119th anniversary of the first documented Ice cream Sundae. I must have been inspired!
1/2 cup Milk
1 small ripe banana, cut into chunks
10 Maraschino Cherries (less if you want - I used 6)
1 Tbls. Baking Cocoa
1/2 tsp. Coconut extract, or sprinkle in some coconut ( I omitted. I love it, the family doesn't)
3 cups Vanilla Ice Cream, softened
Place first five ingredients in a blender; cover and process until smooth. Add ice cream; cover and process until blended. Pour into chilled glasses. Serve immediately

Mmmmm, this sounds so good! I'm excited to try it will the coconut extract. This would be such a nice treat on warm summer days!
Yvonne,
I am so bummed I left the coconut out. I love it too, but the family can smell it from a mile away so I have to keep it out. I have a few more icecream treats to post as the weather gets warmer. Thanks for the comment.
